Reawakening: Sounds from the Forest

This fall, the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA), in collaboration with the Niagara Folk Arts Festival and Kakekalanicks Consulting, proudly presents Reawakening: Sounds from the Forest. Set within the breathtaking Carolinian Forest at Ball’s Falls Conservation Area, this immersive experience invites participants to deepen their understanding of Indigenous traditions, reconnect with nature, and reflect on our shared responsibilities to one another and the environment. This specially programmed event series will immerse participants in Indigenous cultural programming, allowing them to reconnect with nature and the shared histories that bind us. Join us as we experience the serene beauty of Ball’s Falls Conservation Area and reflect on the connection between land, culture, and community.

Ancestors’ Reflection Trails:
Explore Indigenous Ways of Knowing Tour

Immerse yourself in the rich Indigenous heritage of the Niagara Region this fall with LON360’s unique 2-hour outdoor tours.

Your journey begins at the serene Thorold Indigenous Unity Garden, with a traditional Welcome Circle, setting the tone for an enriching experience. Guided by Elders and Knowledge Keepers, you’ll then embark on a curated sonic tour, weaving together the sounds of the land with interactive teachings. Walking along ancient trails, you will gain insights into the natural world, the deep history of the lands, and the wisdom passed down through generations. Each step presents an opportunity to reflect on Indigenous histories, the future seven generations, and the original instructions that bind us to the Natural World, reminding us of the responsibilities and gifts we all need to share.

Offering a profound and educational experience, LON 360° gratefully acknowledges the Government of Canada’s support through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario for development of these experiences and invites you to celebrate “Harvest” with us and honour All Our Relations by joining us this fall!
